My Approach

I believe that the foundation of solid therapeutic work is the quality of relationship that we build together. To me, good therapy happens when there is a real human being to interact with who is genuine and honest. I strive to be myself in my work and not hide behind some mysterious therapist veil. I think that being real builds trust, a requirement to feeling safe enough to risk opening up. So all modalities aside, that's my style and my priority, to be myself with you.

I like to practice in an 'experiential' way. What this means is that I will often guide my clients to focus largely on what is happening 'here-and-now' of our sessions. This approach seems to help people to more deeply identify, feel through, and make sense of their emotions.

That said, I am as much a thinker as I am a feeler and I don't value one over the other. Which is to say, we will talk too. And yes, I will ask you about your childhood! Trust me, it's relevent.
